Cassandre is an extensible chess engine started as a student project at university Louis Pasteur, France.

It is developped by Jean-François Romang, Raphaël Grundrich and Thomas Adolph, under the supervision of professor Jerzy J. Korczak.

Currently the program supports XBoard or UCI Interface and works under Unix or Windows systems. The source code is available free of charge under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL). This project is hosted on SourceForge, and you are welcome to contibute to Cassandre if you are interested in chess programming or artificial intelligence ! Any comments from experienced chess players would also be greatly appreciated.
